Welcome to the Practical Track! Here you'll find everything that you need to know to prepare for your product evaluation.
In order to determine project placements, we ask you to present an analysis and pitch based on an existing product. You can choose any product, whether you love it or hate it, but we recommend choosing a product that you have frequently used. Please make sure to choose a specific product and not a company (ex choose Uber Eats not Uber or Word not Microsoft).
Prepare a 20-minute analysis of the product and a new feature you think should be added. You can accompany your presentation with a slide deck. Please include the following:
Please refer to the Product Evaluation Workshop recording here and slides **here** for an example of the product evaluation.

This assessment is based on a House Course taught last Spring by Jennifer Chin and Rishi Tripathy as well as assessments we received when interviewing for product management positions. Below is a link to an example from the House Course that might be useful for your evaluation. While you only need to complete the slide deck, the other documents might be useful for diving deeper into a specific topic.

Once you've finished your product evaluation, you can schedule your interview using this link. During your interview you'll have the opportunity to share your pitch and talk about why you're interested in being a PM and the type of projects you'd like to work on. You should also feel comfortable incorporating and talking about the topics from the Introductory Track. You'll be evaluated based on the depth of your analysis, the cohesion of your presentation, and the overall strength of your pitch.
